Dear Cuyahoga team,

I am trying to Install Cuyahoga from source which I downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/projects/cuyahoga/files/. I have followed the Install.txt instructions and I want to build and run with vs 2008. I have installed VS.NET 2008 SP1 and ASP.NET MVC 1.0 and while opening Cuyahoga.sln with VS am getting message "The project file D:\..\src\Cuyahoga.Web\Cuyahoga.Web.csproj cannot be opened." The project type is not supported by this installation. Clicking OK again prompting the message "The project file D:\..\src\Cuyahoga.Modules\Cuyahoga.Modules.csproj cannot be opened." The project type is not supported by this installation. Again clicking ok prompting message "The project file D:\..\src\Cuyahoga.Modules.Downloads\Cuyahoga.Modules.Downloads.csproj cannot be opened." The project type is not supported by this installation.... ... Can you please help me out to fix these and start to get in to the portal and analyze..

Thank you all in advance,
sharat.

I am using VS 2008 SP1. I have no problems in my own Cuyahog build or in the V1.6 and V2.0 sources. They all work fine for me. I am interested to find out what this issue is?

What version of the src are we taling about. V2.0 alpha? V1.6?

I don't know... But I have no problem at all with any of the sources! Strange.

Can someone go through step by step the process of getting this error.

1) Download src (specify which) from repository
2) Copy to a work folder
3) Open in VS2008 SP1
4) etc...

I get my sources with TortoiseSVN rather than the .zip files. People have had issues with the zip files as mentioned on this forum.

EDIT: I have just downloaded the V2.0 Alpha src from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cuyahoga/files/

Unzipped to a folder.

Open this in VS2008 SP1: Cuyahoga-2.0.0-ALPHA-src\src\Cuyahoga.sln

No problem at all. Are those with problems opening the correct file?

Hey - I had this issue because I had only had ASP.NET MVC 2.0 installed. Also installing 1.0 solved the problem.

To test if this is indeed the problem, open one of the relevant .csproj project files - and in the ProjectTypeGuids block remove the following Id: 603c0e0b-db56-11dc-be95-000d561079b0
Make sure you also remove the trailing semi-colon.
Then in VS right click and reload the project - if this solves the problem, you're missing MVC 1.0.
Undo your changes to the project file, close VS2008 and download and install the MVC 1.0 .msi installer from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=53289097-73ce-43bf-b6a6-35e00103cb4b&displaylang=en

After this you should be able to load the solution.
